Cookie policy

No cookies for visitors

The public FerryGrid site does not set cookies: no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies, and no session cookie. You can read timetables, search and use the maps without anything being stored by us in your browser.

What is stored in your browser

  • Day or night mode (local storage key fg-theme), only if you choose one with the theme button. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us. Remove it by clearing this site's data.

Third parties on our pages

Maps load tiles from OpenFreeMap and the weather card asks MET Norway for a forecast. We checked that neither sets cookies; both receive your IP address, as the privacy policy explains.

After you click Book

A Book button takes you to our booking partner Direct Ferries. Their site sets its own cookies, including the partner cookie that credits the booking to FerryGrid, and asks for your consent under their own cookie policy.

Admin area

The admin area, where staff sign in, uses a session cookie and a security token cookie, which are strictly necessary for signing in. The public pages of FerryGrid do not set them.

If this changes

If we add analytics or another service that needs cookies, a cookie banner will ask for your consent first, and this page will list each cookie with its purpose and lifetime.
